Moving to Sweden

When you move to Umeå from abroad, you're also moving to Sweden, whether you like it or not. If you're an EU citizen there are a few checkboxes to fill in, whilst if you're from outside of the EU it's more of a process. But don't worry, we have the answers to many of your questions.

Moving within Sweden

If you're already in Sweden, moving to Umeå isn't that difficult. You might need to find a transport firm to bring your furniture, and maybe even secure some storage in Umeå. You've got quite a few options to choose from - and we've gathered some of them here.

Travelling to and from Umeå

Umeå is well connected. Our local airport is just a few minutes out of the city centre, a fast railway connection to the south and two European highways both north-south and inland. Whether you're planning a trip or a move, this is a good place to start.

Making a place for your family

Umeå isn't only for students, globetrotters and career-focused individuals - it's also a place for family. We know that some professionals who move here for a job have had a tough time to find work and activities for their significant other. That's why we're actively working on providing networking opportunities for significant others. Connect with us on LinkedIn to hear about upcoming events!
